Plastic Free Range

Our plastic free sign range is made entirely from sustainably sourced Hoop Pine. The timber is grown and processed in northern New South Wales and Queensland.

We have crafted these signs to maximize the stunning natural detail on the veneer face, and to highlight the exquisite, layered edge detail.

We can laser etch the timber face as a clever (plastic free) way to
showcase your brand.

Carbon Footprint

If we can inspire more people to make better choices, then the world will become a better place. We’ve worked hard on our supply chain to minimise the signs impact for the full duration of its entire lifetime – from the point the tree is planted, to when the sign is disposed of.

What’s the difference?

Small changes DO make a huge difference! We use natural timber from trees that store carbon and decompose back into the earth 95% sooner than plastic. By using timber, we have minimised the toxicity of our signs by more than 95%. Our primary material is sourced from within Australia, reducing transit by more than 90%. Theses are 3 of many examples where a considered and optimised supply chain DOES create positive change.

Manufacturing & packaging waste

The impacts of these two often fly under the radar! We minimise the waste material for these signs by re-purposing them to other projects (like our hoop pine feature wall) which is designed to intentionally maximise the use of our offcuts. Anything less, is chipped down and deposited to landfill where the (mostly organic) material will take less than 10 years to decompose. Our packaging is plastic free and compostable or re-usable.

What is Hoop Pine?

Hoop Pine (Araucaria cunninghamii) is native to Australia and found in northern NSW and lower Queensland. This beautiful timber is a premium grade softwood know for its long grain and minimal knotting. Hoop pine is considered a sustainable resource and is 100% plantation grown.

This product’s environmental impact

Let’s be real, it’s near impossible to create a product that has zero environmental impact. We have pursued every opportunity within our reach to achieve a more sustainable product. Our goal is simply to inspire businesses to make better choices and to consider their environmental impact. We’re not perfect, and nobody is! Here’s some of the main environmental impacts of this product:

  • Pollution from the harvesting and processing of trees in to ply
  • Pollution from transporting timber from NSW to Victoria, and then from our factory to you.
  • Air (sawdust) and noise pollution near processing plants
  • Lack of biodiversity in Hoop Pine plantation areas
  • Glue and water-based varnish used to laminate and seal the Hoop Pine
  • Energy use in machining the plywood timber into a usable sign

We’ve harped on about this a lot! But we’re here to provide businesses with better choices. Our flagship product has a substantially lower environmental impact. Learn more here!

Installation

We have designed our signs for simple and efficient installation using 3 simple steps! First fix the universal wall mount to a solid surface (wall stud, beam, concrete brick etc). Then push the base of the sign over the wall mount and slide it down to lock it in position. Lastly tighten the screw so that the sign is securely locked on to the wall mount.
